Nontraditional Employment for Women (NEW) prepares, trains, and places women in careers in the skilled construction, utility, and maintenance trades, helping women achieve economic independence and a secure future. We at CitiLeaf are proud of our alliance with the NEW organization. We employ several of the NEW graduates to work in our maintenance department and even our Facilities Director is a NEW graduate. NEW is located in the CitiLeaf neighborhood, we believe in supporting our neighborhood and our women!
Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays of New York City (PFLAG NYC) is the founding chapter of PFLAG, the nation’s foremost family-based organization committed to the civil rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people. Launched in New York City in 1973 by mothers and fathers who stood up for their gay children, PFLAG NYC started a national movement that now has more than 250,000 members and supporters in over 500 chapters throughout the United States.PFLAG NYC’s mission is to create a better future for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) youth and adults through a partnership of parents, allies, and LGBT people.
PFLAG NYC is located within CitiLeaf Housing and this is not by accident! It is no secret that the AIDS virus and all that can accompany it has hit the LGBT community with a vengeance. Many of our residents who come toCitiLeaf Housing have felt the pain of hate because they identify as LGBT. We are committed to PFLAG’s mission of tolerance and acceptance and advocacy and they are joined with us in our mission to provide services and housing to those struggling with AIDS. Together both agencies are stronger for being together!

Cherub Improv brings comedy to hospitals, homeless shelters, retirement homes, hospice facilities and other places where residents often don’t have the opportunity to attend off-site performances. The direction of our improvised skits and songs is based on audience suggestions, thus making each performance interactive and unique.
Everyone laughs when the Cherubs come to CitiLeaf Housing! Nothing heals like the gift of laughter and no one brings that gift better than our friends at Cherub Improv. We are lucky to work with this organization and we also support them by offering our space for rehearsals so that they can be even funnier than they already are!
The famous jewelry designer Christina Stankard has generously chosen us to be her charity of choice!
She custom designed a bracelet just for CitiLeaf and the majority of the proceeds will directly support our programs. See the bracelet.
